June 2005 — Carlos A.C. Baptista has agreed to serve as the Managing Editor of HEAL's Clinical Sciences Review Board, effective immediately. Dr. Baptista is an Assistant Professor at the Medical University of Ohio at Toledo, in the Department of Neurosciences, College of Medicine, and the Department of Public Health, College of Health Sciences. He graduated in Medicine in 1981 in Brazil, received a master's in Anatomy in 1986 and a PhD in Anatomy in 1987 from the University of São Paulo. He completed postdoctoral training in Molecular Hypertension at the Medical College of Ohio and postdoctoral training in 1993 in Developmental Biology at the Medical College of Georgia.

Dr. Baptista's work with the Clinical Sciences Review Board will complement the ongoing work of Kathryn Lovell, PhD, from Michigan State University, the managing editor of HEAL's Basic Sciences Review Board since 2003. The two review boards work with Editor Sebastian Uijtdehaage, PhD, from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
